with strategic installation at Northeastern University’s Center for Translational NeuroImaging
We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone for Mediso — the first nanoScan 7 Tesla (7T) PET/MRI preclinical imaging system officially installed and operational in the United States at Northeastern University’s Center for Translational NeuroImaging (CTNI)!

This ultra-high-field system represents a leap forward in preclinical imaging by combining state-of-the-art MRI and PET in a single, integrated platform — enabling truly simultaneous structural, functional, and molecular imaging with unprecedented detail. It’s a game-changer for neuroscience research and drug development.
What makes this installation so extraordinary?
A special acknowledgment to Professor Craig Ferris and Praveen Kulkarni whose decades of leadership in neuroscience and awake imaging made this collaboration possible. His work at CTNI has positioned Northeastern as a premier site for preclinical imaging innovation.
“This installation isn’t just a testament to Mediso’s engineering excellence — it’s a launchpad for new insights into brain function, connectivity, and treatment mechanisms, especially in emerging fields like psychedelic research when multiplexed with simultaneous PET” said Gergő Bagaméry, Mediso’s Director of Preclinical Product Development.
