The Imaging Engineer will be responsible for performing installation, calibration, operational and safety testing, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of vivo imaging systems, such as PET, SPECT, MRI, and CT scanners. Responsibilities include: Perform assigned planned maintenance, installations, repairs, adjustments, calibrations, and safety testing of Mediso imaging equipment; Provide on-site direction and training to customers on the operation, function, and maintenance aspects of such equipment; Provide technical support (via telephone, remote or on-site) to other engineers; Service and troubleshoot IT networks Perform inspections, quality control, and image evaluations; Investigate safety issues, hazards, and incidents; Establish, document, and evaluate equipment performance; Interpret test results and recommend solutions for performance deficiencies; Adhere to performance metrics of installation and maintenance completion, and manage the full stack service workflow; and Assist in selection of new equipment, accessories, and supplies.
Position based at company HQ in Arlington, VA. Position is 100% remote from anywhere in the US. Up to 60% travel (primarily domestic, occasional international) required for repairs and trainings.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Biomedical Engineering or closely related field; plus 2 years of relevant experience in servicing medical imaging equipment.
Must have: Demonstrated experience with a wide variety of Nuclear Medicine, CT, and MRI experiments; Demonstrated knowledge of radiation physics, digital technology, circuitry, and mechanics; Demonstrated knowledge of regulations pertaining to imaging equipment and radiation safety, and protection practices; Demonstrated knowledge of imaging performance based on regulations, manufacturing practices, and institutional requirements; Demonstrated ability to read, comprehend, and interpret complex technical information involving mechanics and electronics, as well as to interpret schematic and electrical diagrams; Demonstrated ability to use electronic test equipment such as an Oscilloscope and Multimeter; Demonstrated experience soldering circuit boards and electronic components; Demonstrated knowledge of Linux operating systems; Demonstrate ability to set goals, plan projects, be highly organized, and develop solutions to complex situations with a high degree of independence; Demonstrated ability to display a positive customer focus and have a strong analytical mind, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and high standards for personal and professional integrity; Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written; and Demonstrated strong computer competencies.
